On February 10, STONEHEDGE and NIKOLSKAYAGALLERY open the exhibition "Abstraction. Return to the Future "at the 3rd International Festival" Abstraction without Borders "in the walls of Pop Up Museum, BC Neo Geo.
With the support of: the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Creative Workshop of the Povolzhsky Branch of the Russian Academy of Arts and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, the Section "Abstract Art", the newspaper "Art Stories", STONE HEDGE, NIKOLSKAYA GALLERY.

Artists, Kandinsky and Malevich, at the beginning of the XX century made a significant contribution to the development of the theory and practice of abstract art. In the 1920s, during the rapid development of all avant-garde trends, abstract art included kubofuturists, pointers, constructivists, suprematists into their orbit: Alexander Exter and Lyubov Popova, Alexander Rodchenko and Varvara Stepanov, George Stenberg and Mikhail Matyushin, Nikolai Suetin and Ilya Chashnik . The language of non-figurative art lay at the basis of a culture of a new, modern plastic form, easel, decorative-applied or monumental, and had every opportunity for further fruitful and future development. But the internal contradictions of the avant-garde movement, reinforced by the pressure of ideological officialdom, in the early 1930s forced its figures to seek other creative ways. Anti-popular, idealistic abstract art from now on had no right to exist.

The ideologist of the festival "Abstraction without borders", the Russian artist David Roux well remembers the destruction of the exhibition in the Manege by Nikita Khrushchev and bulldozers in the Bitsevsky Park. David - a classic of Russian abstract painting, together with 29 artists from 27 countries, will open the III International Festival and Exhibition "Abstraction.
