On May 23, in POP UP MUSEUM, a large-scale exhibition by Dmitry Plotkin “From Tao to Tao” opens. Huge canvases, hypnotizing with their detail, await the viewer in the second atrium of the museum.
The main idea of ​​the project is the responsibility of Mankind to itself and to the Nature that gave birth to it for the future. Tao for Dmitry Plotkin is an absolute matter, which is in perfect harmony. It is her life-giving energy that creates a kind of original chaos from which the world is gradually built. Thus, from picture to picture, the stages of its existence are revealed up to the moment of inevitable death and the new accession of the Tao. The project shows the “history” of the creation of man, his best and worst sides and the possible decline of his civilization.
Tao always exists, and the human world is cyclical. Its development gives rise to what is called Yin-Yang in Chinese philosophy — a struggle of opposing principles that drives the course of history. So in the world there seem to be the most mutually exclusive phenomena - death and love. Humanity is developing, progressing, resulting in not only the benefits of civilization, and especially, according to the artist, culture, but also a large number of problems: people’s separation, their isolation from nature and, as a result, the loss of the original roots and connection with Tao. Such a development gives rise to war. All this, both positive and negative, lies in the very essence of man and is woven into the single existence of civilization. Awareness of this ambivalence and foreboding of the inevitable end, when the destructive forces nevertheless outweigh the creative ones, compels the artist to write - in order to create a penetrating image of what is happening and point people to mistakes.
The project uses the idea of ​​virtual "puzzles" of history, each of which is responsible for its important strategic side of the existence of the world. And as a result of their merging, the irrevocable dissolution of one (external) level in another, which gave rise to it, occurs. So in the "beginning" Chaos creates Nature, and in the end it dissolves in it.
Dmitry Plotkin was born in the city of Nikopol, Dnepropetrovsk region in Ukraine. He studied at k / s "Mosfilm at the artist-decorator, in the Ivanovo Art School at the pedagogical department. Joined the Union of Artists in 1989.
