October 14, 2019 at the Museum of Russian Contemporary Art POPUPMUSEUM a personal exhibition of the artist Eva "Rus" will open. The event will be supported by the Faculty of Arts of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the British Higher School of Art and Design, the Foundation for the Support of Arts and Museum Activities "Russian Patrons", the Museum of Russian Art MoRA in New Jersey, EVA Gallery, ARCH design, NikolskayaGallery. Until December 31, 2019, on an area of more than a thousand square meters, you can see 120 works by the author of various artistic forms: painting, sculpture, video art, graphics and digital art.
The exhibition "Rus" is inspired by the work of the great writer and researcher of the human soul N.V. Gogol. In his works, Nikolai Vasilievich uses the method of removal, turning ordinary things into mysterious and mysterious. Through literary artistic images, he conveys his deepest feelings, thoughts and observations. Close to the reader at the archetype level, bright and honest, they contribute to the spiritual transformation of man. Eva uses similar tricks in her work.
"Russia" considers a person, his spiritual world in the circumstances of the XXI century. Nowadays, it is especially difficult to identify the boundaries between reality and illusion, and the information flow is similar to the very "trio" of Gogol, rushing with great speed in an unknown direction. In the modern world, it is extremely difficult to see things as they are, to build an individual worldview.
Through her work, Eva offers to get out of the usual patterns of thinking and ideas about things in our field of vision. Modern digital technologies and artistic techniques used by the artist are in dialogue with N.V. Gogol. The “Little Man” appears to be the center of the universe, and his experiences, weaknesses and vices still distract from knowing oneself and the world, revealing the best qualities of a person. The ability to value Life as it is, to explore it and seek truth is perhaps the key narrative between the work of Eve and the great writer.
Eve quickly became one of the recognized artists at the international level. Her works are in the collections of Pierre Cardin (France), the Museum of Modern Art of the city of Gibellin (Italy), the Diocesan Museum of the city of Caltagirone (Italy), the Ibrahim Codra Foundation (Switzerland), as well as in private collections of contemporary art connoisseurs around the world.
Eva's works were presented at major art events in private and public art institutions around the world. Among them are London Art Biennale (London, United Kingdom), Florence Art Biennale (Florence, Italy), State Museum of the East (Moscow, Russia), Diocean museum of Caltagirone (Caltagirone, Italy), CICAMuseum (Seoul, South Korea), GZ-Basel (Basel, Switzerland), Palazzo Doebbing Museum (Sutri, Italy), StartArtFair (SaatchiGallery, London, UK), Winery Factory and many others.
In addition to creative practice, Eve is engaged in research activities. She is the author of 15 monographs devoted to contemporary Russian art in various directions.
Eva graduated with honors from the Faculty of Arts, Moscow State University Lomonosov (Master's degree in Fine Arts) and the British Higher School of Art and Design. Continues his education at OpenCollegeofArt (London, UK) and graduate school of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, majoring in Art History.
