Resident Pop Up Museum, Nikolskaya Gallery (Moscow, Miami)
Roman Reznitsky (born 1978) is a contemporary Moscow artist. In 2004 he graduated from the Higher School of Graphic Design in Moscow, in 2005 - Novgorod State University, Faculty of Architecture and Construction. Despite his full artistic education, Roman returned to his work relatively recently. In just one year he created his own bright, easily recognizable painting style, which is very popular not only in Russia, but also abroad (Israel, USA). Roman's paintings balance on the edge of graphic art, painting and design: strong brush strokes, a thick layer of acrylic paint create a sense of the volume of the canvas, the characters of the pictures are made up of clear lines and bright color spots and are limited by the contour. Color contrasts and silhouettes create optical illusions. Roman's works are the result of a series of interesting experiments on the blending of artistic methods and styles. The viewer has a persistent feeling that the artist translates the scenes of classical pop art painting into a familiar modern visual language of social networks and smartphones. "The paintings that you will see are not only the continuation of the traditions of the popular pop art genre and the work of my favorite artist Roy Lichtenstein, but also my personal creative experience and reflections on the time we live in. Through pictures I express my emotions that are born inside "- says Roman.
